Internet denizens are no strangers to memeing through their anxiety over war, but it can nevertheless be a little jarring to see actual countries meme through the same feelings. Yesterday, Twitter users were treated to the official Twitter account of Ukraine tweeting a Types of Headaches meme about "living next to Russia."

A potential conflict is brewing at the Russia-Ukraine border as a buildup of Russian troops at the border has been interpreted as a sign of potential Russian invasion, according to Ukrainian and American officials. Russia denies this, leading to newfound diplomatic tensions between President Biden and Vladmir Putin.
Amidst all this uncertainty, a social media manager for Ukraine did what any of us would do: meme through it. The post was well-received online, and the official account of Taiwan followed up with a similar meme about China.

Despite some online fears over Ukraine's posting habits, it's unlikely that Ukraine's goofy tweet will be the 21st-century of the Archduke Ferdinand assassination. However, the idea of a country s***posting through their heightening global tensions is very much an "only in 2021" story in global politics.
