Twitter Blue, Twitter's promised (though some may say "threatened") $3/mo. premium subscription service, has finally been released, ushering in a host of jokes about what the service actually provides and who would purchase it.

The major selling point for Twitter Blue is the "Undo Tweet" feature, which will give users the ability to un-post and edit a tweet within a 60-second time frame, providing a boon to users who have been clamoring for an edit button for years. Other features include the ability to organize bookmarks, customize your theme and, intriguingly, the ability to read ad-free articles on major publications including the Washington Post, Buzzfeed and Reuters.

These features weren't enough to silence doubters of the service on Twitter, as many felt a quasi-edit button and cosmetic customization features weren't enough to justify the service. After its unveiling, many took to the opportunity to post memes or jokes mocking Twitter Blue.

The backlash to Twitter Blue may be a case of users groaning about new features before ultimately accepting them, as so often happens with the site. It remains to be seen if Twitter Blue can provide enough services to justify its price to its userbase, but if it can, it could go a long way in monetizing a website that has been famously free for its entire existence.
