Still from Danielle Bregoli's "These Heaux" Video

Just over a year ago, Florida teenager Danielle Bregoli appeared on The Dr. Phil Show with her concerned mother to talk about her delinquent tendencies. Unapologetic and defiant as ever, she confronted the audience at one point and uttered: "cash me ousside, howbow dah?" And with that line, the 13-year-old was on her way to internet superstardom.

By late March this year, Bregoli had not only garnered millions of followers on social media, but hundreds of thousands of dollars in income through various product endorsement and guest appearance deals. One year later, Bregoli has signed a record deal with Atlantic Records.

The news of the record deal comes off the heels of “These Heaux,” her debut single released under the stage name "Bhad Bhabie." The music video, which resembles a surprisingly well-produced homage to the famous one-shot scene from True Detective scene", has already gained over 25 million views.

How did she get this far? To be fair, the catchphrase did snowball into a huge (and to some, inexplicable) meme that only a few others could measure up to in scale, but it is the sheer endurance of her fame that makes her stand out from many other minors who enjoyed their 15 minutes of fame before fading away into pop culture obscura.

Regardless of how you may feel about Bregoli, she managed to spin her highly exploitable catchphrase into a lucrative career path, becoming the youngest female rapper to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and joining a roster of A-list pop stars like Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson and Coldplay.

For those who saw her fame and angrily claimed she had no talent deserving of fame, Bregoli has the last laugh.

Global vice president of A&R at Warner Music Group Aton Ben Horin has said, “Without a doubt, this girl is a real star with undeniable talent."
