Today in What Year Is It?, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard said that his team would win next Sunday's Super Bowl for Harambe.

It's been nearly six years since Harambe the Gorilla was tragically killed in a Cincinnati Zoo, kicking off one of the longest-lasting and subsequently most prolific (or irritating) memes in history. Sports media jokesters "Pardon My Take" have been reviving Harambe jokes throughout the Bengals' playoff run, and yesterday, asked Hubbard if "there was any discussion in the Bengals locker room" about winning the big game against the Los Angeles Rams for Harambe.

"That's our guy. That's our hero. We're doing this for him," Hubbard said, rolling with the jokey tenor of the interview.

Though Hubbard's statement was clearly tongue-in-cheek, it was enough to make "Harambe" unexpectedly trend yet again, as memers from 2016 heard the call and understood their time had returned.

It's been a relatively meme-free NFL season, but now that Hubbard has inadvertently gotten meme lovers on the side of the Bengals, they better win, or else it might just be the most disappointing Super Bowl since Maroon 5 teased doing "Sweet Victory" at the halftime show but failed to deliver (a game that coincidentally also featured the Rams).
