The concept of a “subathon” is one that many streamers have toyed with over the years, but Twitch streamer Ludwig and his two-week-long event this month might go down as one of the most memorable.

Back on Sunday, March 14th, Ludwig kicked off his subathon event completely unaware of the marathon that it would truly turn into. To add a little context, Ludwig’s subscriptions cost $5, and each time someone subscribes, he adds another 10 seconds to the timer counting down to the end of the event (it was originally 20 seconds but this was reduced recently).

Now, it’s been 15 days since he began streaming non-stop, and the new subscribers continue rolling in and keeping him live 24/7, even while he sleeps. Throughout the stream, Ludwig’s friends have made appearances, he’s played a range of different games and while sleeping at night, he’s become the most-watched streamer on Twitch. According to the video game website Dexerto, Ludwig hit 11.3 million viewers in March, making him third overall this month behind xQc and Gaules (he was the 11th most popular English-language channel before the subathon).

While most subathons rarely go more than a day or two, Ludwig has broken the previous record by more than double, topping streamer LosPollosTV who went over six days last April. Regardless of just how long this thing will continue for, Ludwig has set a 31-day cap for the stream if it ultimately goes on for another two weeks, but subscriptions have been slowing down lately.

So at $5 per subscription and 10 (or previously 20) seconds added each time at over two weeks running, just how much has Ludwig made from this whole subathon? Thanks to a dedicated Redditor on Lud’s subreddit, the stats have been continuously tracked and updated on a Google Sheet since the beginning.

According to the document, Ludwig’s subathon has raked in almost $600,000 between subs, Bits and media share, or $1,183 per hour, and over 101,000 subscribers over the course of 371 hours (and just 84 hours of sleep).

As of this afternoon, Ludwig’s subathon sits at around four and a half hours to go with new subs still rolling in as 30,000 viewers continue to watch him sleep in his racecar bed. If you want to tune in and see the event for yourself, you can check out his channel for more.
