Twitch Streamer Kjanecaron Almost Burns Down Her House During Cooking Stream

The nature of Twitch has led to many disasters livestreamed to thousands of viewers over the years, and recently, Twitch almost watched a woman die in an oil fire from her own cooking error.

During a subathon Wednesday morning, Kjanecaron began an ill-fated attempt at cooking a meal. The relevant clip spreading online opens with her cheerily fanning through her already smoke-filled kitchen when her pan suddenly catches fire. In a panic, she attempts to throw water on her pan, which, as any seasoned cook knows, is the worst idea in this situation, and the flames get bigger. She then runs off-camera calling for help as the fire dies down.

The story went viral after Dexerto posted about it, leaving many viewers shaking their heads at the irresponsibility of Kjanecaron, as well as crack jokes at the viral video.

Luckily, the fire didn't get out of control and Kjanecaron survived the incident with only a small burn on her hand, but things could have gotten much worse. Kotaku notes that at one point of the video, a bit of fire escapes the pan but luckily ends on the stovetop. If it landed on cabinetry, a serious fire could have broken out.

For what it's worth, if you're even in this situation, the key thing to remember is to not panic and put a lid on the grease fire. That will deprive it of oxygen and safely put out the fire. You should not run water over a grease fire, as that will assuredly make things worse.
