Meme depicting onlyfans was only pretending to ban adult content.

Paid subscription website OnlyFans has reversed its prior decision to prohibit sexually explicit content. This change of heart over a decision that was prompted by pressure from banks and payment systems follows a massive wave of backlash from sex workers on the site, as well as much of the internet at large.

Earlier today, OnlyFans announced that it will not be changing its policy to ban explicit adult content on October 1st, as was planned late last week. In a follow-up tweet, OnlyFans wrote that an official communication would soon be emailed to creators.

One week prior on August 19th, Bloomberg reported that OnlyFans made a decision to prohibit explicit sexual content from being uploaded to the site, including anything that "shows, promotes or refers to" real or simulated sex, masturbation and sex-related bodily fluids, while still allowing nudity.

The news prompted a backlash from sex workers, many of whom claimed that the policy change would be akin to stripping them of safe haven in a dangerous field of work, and memes about OnlyFans digging its own grave by killing the very thing it came to be known for.

Now memes and jokes are again being made, this time about OnlyFans shooting itself in the foot for no good reason and losing the trust of its userbase.

So my understanding behind the ban is that MasterCard and Visa are cracking down on explicit sex acts due to the fact that there are criminal enterprises forcing women into doing this on camera. So in order to crack down on the criminal element they were going after everyone.
