The most famous bait-and-switch prank of all time, "Never Gonna Give You Up," better known as the Rickroll, has achieved a major milestone by hitting one billion views on YouTube today, with countless victims and many Rick Astley enjoyers contributing over the years.
On July 27th, Rick Astley's 1987 single celebrated its 34th birthday, and 2021 also marks its 14th year of online infamy since the music video was first used for trolling purposes in May 2007.
Here's to the Rickroll, and may it claim many more billions of unsuspecting link clickers.
