Soup eaters beware, you're in for a scare. At least, if Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is to be believed.

The far-right congresswoman went on One America News Network Tuesday to accuse House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of spying on congresspeople and American citizens. In an apparent attempt to draw a comparison between Pelosi and Nazi Germany, she claimed Pelosi had "gazpacho" police. Because gazpacho is a type of cold soup, it seems clear that Greene meant to say "Gestapo," the official secret police of Nazi Germany.

Greene, who is banned from Twitter for spreading COVID-19 misinformation, is often the target of mockery online for her outlandish views on a wide variety of topics, and has been known to launch memes with her gaffes in the past.

Her "gazpacho" gaffe added to her impressive meme history, as Twitter users couldn't help but facepalm at the error.

Naturally, the combination of soup and nazis brought to mind the Soup Nazi, an immortal character from Seinfeld. From an alternate account that was later suspended, Greene attempted to joke about the gaffe on Twitter with a Soup Nazi reference. The Guardian actually sought out Larry Thomas, the actor behind the role, for his take on the situation.

"I knew as soon as she actually used the name of a soup that I was in trouble," he said. "And then she turns around and makes an actual Soup Nazi reference [on Twitter], you know, the ‘no soup for you, and you’re gonna end up in the goulash.’ I’m sure somebody wrote that for her. She can’t possibly be that funny."
