Kendall Jenner is no stranger to protest. As many , she was the star of a disastrous 2017 advertisement where she solves societal tensions by handing a cop a Pepsi. This latest campaign, though, is a little more complicated.

A recent viral photograph of Jenner wearing a facemask and holding up a Black Lives Matter sign made Jenner the center of protest jokes once again. The post, which apparently comes from the Facebook group 20K, has a revealing shadow: Jenner isn't actually holding the sign.

The earliest known posting of the image has racked up nearly 850,000 likes in less than one week, with many thinking Jenner posted the picture to feign support for Black Lives Matter.

The photograph, which is obviously photoshopped and doesn't need anyone point that out, has a few people pointing that out.

Stranger still, some people think that Jenner was the one who posted the photograph, even though the original post shows "20K" as the memer.

But more importantly, Jenner herself has spoken out against the photograph. In a tweet, she wrote, "this is photoshopped by someone. i DID NOT post this." Well, duh.

So there you have it. We can all go back to treating Kendall Jenner as the freedom fighter she is.
