A viral instance of the meme in which a woman shouts some knives at her boyfriend have caused quite a stir in the iFunny community last week. The app users have been sending the image to their significant others to see if they would fulfil a very special request. A request for them to wear fishnet stockings and sit on their face, to be exact.

Now, Woman Shouting Knives is not a new meme per se. The original image, created by Alena Sofronova, was posted on a Russian website Adme in 2018 as a part of a collection of metaphorical artworks. It has been used in memes at least since July 2019, first on Facebook and then on Reddit and other places.

While the meme that engulfed iFunny last week is based on this format, things went in a different direction this time. The exact meme in question – one in which the woman exclaims "No, I will not wear my fishnet stockings and sit on your face" – was originally posted by an unknown Turkish Instagram page and then translated and reposted by Redditor reaskyper on October 18th, from where it made its way to iFunny.

The repost by iFunnier ScuffedKing gained a whopping 4,100 smiles, but even more importantly, it inspired fellow iFunny user Nareesh to send the meme to his SO. Who, much to Nareesh's surprise, agreed to do what woman in the image so vociferously refused. After the post was featured on the app, it exploded with nearly 100,000 smiles, topping the trending page.

Inspired by Nareesh's post, other iFunny users followed suit and sent the image to their girlfriends and crushes, and the success rate proved to be surprisingly high. In a few days, conversation screenshots filled the community page of the app as hundreds of horny iFunniers began testing their luck.

While some iFunnyers were working up the courage to send the image to their crush, others took the meme further with more new variations of the format than we have seen in the entire year.

A small victory for memes, and a big W for many-an-iFunnier.
