The news that the Supreme Court is potentially on the verge of overturning Roe v. Wade" is former NBA star Dwayne Wade.

In response to a Variety story about Wade (Dwayne) commenting on parents with trans kids, Twitter user @Eddy_Brian11 set out to determine why Wade was so prominently featured in recent headlines.

To be clear, Dwayne Wade is not the Wade of Roe v. Wade. That Wade refers to Henry Wade, a Texas district attorney in 1973 and the defendant against a woman with the pseudonym "Jane Roe" who argued Texas' abortion laws were unconstitutional.

Mr. Brian's confusion left Twitter users slackjawed that someone could make that mistake, considering Dwayne Wade was not even alive at the time Roe v. Wade passed.
