Elon ‘EDM’ Musk Drops Song About NFTs, Which He Also Might Be Selling As An NFT

With each passing day, more and more people are getting in on the non-fungible token craze as crypto art continues to trend online. Earlier today, Elon Musk became the latest high-profile individual to join the fray when he shared an EDM song about NFTs on his Twitter.

Posted around 4 p.m. EST, Musk tweeted out a two-minute video featuring an electronic track with a rotating gold “vanity trophy” emblazoned with various cryptocurrency references like “hodl,” Dogecoin, WallStreetBets’ diamond hands and “to the moon” rocket emojis with a sign reading “NFT” crowned upon the top. The trophy shifts words to later include “computers” and “never sell” as the lyrics sing to the beat.

Upon using the music-identifying app Shazam, the results pull up the title "NFT For Your Vanity" by artist Elon "EDM" Musk, though it doesn’t exist on Spotify or any other platform yet.

The tweet also mentions that he’ll be selling the song as an NFT, but no link has yet been shared by Musk nor any confirmation that it’s been minted on any particular crypto art marketplace.

In recent weeks, Musk has been a proponent of cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Bitcoin, while also referencing the recent hype surrounding NFTs and also tweeting support for WallStreetBets and the GameStop Short Squeeze, all of which are referenced in the song and video.

Digital artist Beeple, who sold an NFT collection of his artwork last week for a record $69 million at Christie's auction house, replied to Musk's tweet and said he'd offer him his recent sale earnings for the track.
