Dream SMP player "manatreed," sometimes known as "Ollie," has retreated from the web and quit content creation altogether after doxxing attempts and accusations of abuse have come to light on Twitter. Manatreed was welcomed to the wildly popular Minecraft survival multiplayer server by personal friends Sapnap and Dream only days ago. He only streamed once before the allegations were thrown his way, encouraging him to quit.

The accusations came from Twitter user @burner19872022 on Sunday, just one day after manatreed's premiere Twitch stream on the Dream SMP server. The tweet thread goes into detail about how manatreed, whose real name is supposedly Justin A., allegedly knew Dream as a child and the two lived together as recently as January 2021. Allegedly, a lawsuit was filed against Justin while he was living with Dream over claims he abused his girlfriend. The case was eventually concluded with a restraining order. The user ends the thread by suggesting that Dream knew about this the whole time and was hiding it so manatree could join the server. The thread is filled with potentially revealing information about Dream and manatreed, including an alleged childhood photo of the two, court documents and partial (and full) names of personal friends and family.

Some commenters came to Dream and manatreed's defense, questioning where they got the name "Justin A." from and why exactly Dream would defend an abuser when he's spoken about being abused in the past. Others took the side of the accuser, even suggesting that Dream allowing a close friend – let alone an abuser – into the server was unfair to small creators who can only dream of being allowed into it one day.

Twitter account @manatreedproof posted a series of tweets backing up the accuser, providing further evidence for their claims, including the name "Justin A." being redacted in his chat, suggesting that is his true identity. Manatreed has notably never shown his face online.

Understandably, Dream SMP fans had a lot of questions for manatreed following the accusations, invoking a response on Twitter (which has now been deleted along with his account). In the response, reposted to Reddit, manatreed denies ever having abused anyone and claims the person being doxxed, Justin A., is not him. He also says it's hard to respond without doxxing himself further, putting him in a tough situation.

Dream responded to the accusations today in a TwitLonger post where he announced that he's removed manatreed from the server, writing "I would never support anything like that whatsoever, or associate myself with anyone that has committed domestic violence or abuse of any kind." Dream also shared that he has "been a victim of domestic violence" and that the situation is complicated. He also said that manatreed is giving up content creation as a whole "due to his anxiety and inability to healthily handle the stress." Dream does not clear up if manatreed is Justin A. in the statement.

With the truth so cloudy, Dream SMP fans seem unsure how to move forward from this. Some are still vehemently defending manatree, seeing his and Dream's doxxing as unfair and viewing the whole thing as an example of "cancel culture run amok." Others are standing by the accuser and throwing Dream under the bus with manatree, denouncing the wildly popular Minecraft streamer for supporting an abuser. "All we need is proof that ollie is manatreed's name and thats it," one Twitter user wrote in hopes to clear manatreed's name. "I mean what do you expect him to do post his driver's license …" Another responded, highlighting an ultimate issue with online accusations as a whole.
