It's been some time since Twitch banned PogChamp and kicked off a brief scramble to see what would replace one of the site's most iconic emotes. Few people thought the "winner" would be Jeff Bezos, but if you've been on Twitch in the past 48 hours, you might think it was.

Over the weekend, the former Amazon CEO's face was plastered all over the site, and no one knows why. Specifically, an image of Bezos making a PogChamp-adjacent face has shown up as the header of all game directory pages. Streamer @AnEternalEnigma pointed out the weird bug on Twitter, helping those outside the Twitch community see what was going on.

Last week, Twitch suffered a massive data leak, the full extent of which still isn't public, and while it's unclear if the Bezos-ification of Twitch is related, the apparent harmlessness of the Bezos troll seems in line with the hacker who leaked the data, who seemed to have an axe to grind against the site itself than its userbase.
While The Verge opined the Bezos image could be part of the hack or that "this was simply a case of cache poisoning," Kotaku pointed out that the image is the same one used in the 4chan post with the leak, bolstering the idea that the hack and the Bezos headers are connected. Amazon purchased Twitch in 2014.

At the time of writing, it appears the issue is resolved. Nevertheless, the very bad week for Twitch continues, and it's not unreasonable to assume we may see more shenanigans related to last week's hack in the weeks to come.
