What's The 'Go Meg Challenge?' The Twerking 'Wanna Be Challenge' TikTok Trend Explained

Rappers Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla's new song "Wanna Be" is going viral on TikTok as the Go Meg Challenge, which is all about twerking, and Meg was the one who was able to get it started with some wild dance moves over the weekend.

Although the trend "Wanna Be Challenge," Stallion has taken center stage in the trend and has inspired many other TikTokers to share their twerking abilities, even though some people are just trying to have fun. Here's how the Go Meg Challenge started and how it's growing popular on TikTok.

What's The 'Go Meg Challenge' On TikTok?

The "Go Meg Challenge" is a dance trend popularized on TikTok and set to the song "Wanna Be" by rappers GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion, which was released in April 2024 (shown below). The trend uses the word play on the phrase "Megan knees" to invite people to twerk to the line "Go Meg, Go Meg," in the song.

How Did The 'Go Meg Challenge' Went Viral?

Megan Thee Stallion was one of the main figures to make the trend go viral, by posting a video of herself twerking to the song on her Instagram @theestallion with the caption of the post reading, "IG after dark lol and nobody better not challenge me bc this the best ass on IG 🤪 or if you think so tag me in your video 😂 stream WANNA BE."

It wasn't just Stallion's post that made the "Go Meg Challenge" go viral, as various internet users joked about salaciously watching other people do the trend, like TikToker @mezzopski, who showed both him and his dogs licking at their lips. The post gathered over 7 million plays and 1 million likes in two days (seen below, left).

The "Go Meg Challenge" also had the help of rapper Latto to boost the trend's popularity, as TikToker @stargirlzizi asked where she could find the infamous clip (seen below, right).
